Waterpik is one of the most efficient oral self-care device available in the market. Its also called as oral irrigator or water flosser. Water pik is used to clean the teeth near the gums as well. Waterpik uses pressurised jet for pulsating water to clean away food particles, bacteria and plaque. It can also clean between tightly spaced teeth which flossing may be unable to do. Tooth brush bristles aren’t small enough to clean efficiently and effectively in between the teeth spaces.
Using a Waterpik can be especially helpful for getting into hard-to-reach areas of the mouth, tightly spaced teeth, and periodontal pockets that may be caused by early gum disease. They can also help to keep breath fresher, longer, which is an added plus. Waterpiks are easy to use.
Indications for use of Waterpik:-
Patients with braces to avoid food lodging between brackets and wires.
Fixed prosthesis or bridge specially full mouth cases for cleaning near gum area.
Tight contacts between teeth or crowns where floss may not reach.
For periodontal maintenance and oral hygiene of mouth.

It doesn’t generally remove visible film and plaque on your teeth, but can aid in reduction of bacteria even below the gum-line. Regular tooth brush with flossing can help reduce tartar and plaque formation.
