For bright and healthy smile, read on the following tips after dental implants:
Use a soft bristled brush: Soft bristles are the best choice as they hardly damage your gums or lead to bleeding. While the name may say soft, they are as effective as medium or hard bristles in removing tartar and plaque.
Brush in the morning and at night: While this is something our parents have been trying to ingrain in us, has it really happened? If you want to make sure your dental implants last, brush once you wake up to remove morning breath and built-up bacteria. You must also brush before sleeping so that the risk of overnight decay reduces.
Floss the crown: Using a crown flosser, you must scrub under and around the implants as well. It enables you to get rid of the toothpaste residue as well as the bacteria which would otherwise go unnoticed.
Use a gentle toothpaste: You must use toothpastes that are more natural and don’t contain abrasive ingredients like baking soda or other harmful agents. These abrasive materials would wear off the acrylic material from the implants. You can always ask your dentist for a recommendation.
