5 signs your Wisdom Teeth are erupting

wisdom tooth pain

Introduction

Wisdom tooth or 3rd molars are the last teeth in the mouth to erupt. They are so-called because they tend to erupt after the age of 16 years. In most of the population, the wisdom tooth erupts normally, but in a few due to lack of space or abnormal position, the wisdom tooth may get impacted. There are many theories as to why the 3rd molars cause trouble. The most popular theory states through evolution the jaw bones are getting smaller but the size of teeth is not. And, because of this, the 3rd molars do not have enough space. This lack of space causes impaction and difficulty in eruption.

The most common signs of wisdom teeth eruption are:

  1. You will start to feel slight pressure or bulge over the gums behind your 2nd molar region.
  2. You may start feeling that your front teeth are becoming crowded or the bite has changed.
  3. You may see that your gums have spread apart the tooth can be seen.
  4. You may find swelling on the face near the angle of the jaw.
  5. You may start getting cheek bite.
